Dread Method is a hard rock band from Newfoundland and Labrador, formed March 3, 2024.
The Band Members consist of:
Max Snelgrove (Vocals), Nick Pearce (Lead Guitar), Jack Janes (Rhyme Guitar), Riagan O'Reilly (Bass), and Darien Read (Drums).
Since their formation, Dread Method has been gaining attention for their high-energy performances and captivating sound, which blends classic rock influences with a modern edge.
With their raw talent and passionate approach to music, Dread Method has released two singles and their debut EP Burn Me Down, which was released on June 23, 2025. These tracks reflect the band's heavy, yet melodic style, with powerful guitar riffs, dynamic rhythms, and gripping lyrics. As they continue to grow, Dread Method is rapidly establishing themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the hard rock scene.
Max Snelgrove
Maxwell Snelgrove is the lead singer of Dread Method. Taking inspiration from modern metal and rock Max writes and performs meaningful songs alongside his friends within Dread Method. Be it songs charged by heartbreak, injustice, or a simple love of being alive, Maxwell and his friends in the band attempt to make music that reaches the hearts of their listeners, or at least their playlists!
Nick Pearce
Nick Pearce is a guitarist hailing from the St. John's area. Newfoundland. He is currently enrolled in the applied music program at College of the North Atlantic. Within the last few years he has started taking his playing seriously and to new levels. He is self taught and plays a multitude of genres, including classic rock, classical and blues as well as Jazz. He has played many live shows and is very comfortable in a band/music making setting. Nick has become obsessed with music ever since listening to hard rock bands such as Guns and Roses, Ozzy Osborne and Led Zeppelin. He is inspired by the classical yet fast and heavy work of Randy Rhoads as well as the more piano heavy work of Bach, Chopin and Mozart. Nick is currently working on an album with his band Dread Method, in which he is the lead guitarist and co songwriter
Jack Janes
Jack Janes is a powerhouse blues, rock, and metal guitarist hailing from Newfoundland and Labrador. Picking up the guitar at age 12, he quickly developed a passion that has driven him ever since, blending soulful blues phrasing with hard-hitting rock and metal energy. Inspired by legends like B.B. King and Vivian Campbell, Jack has crafted a style that
balances raw emotion with technical precision. On July 31, 2025, he officially joined Dread Method, bringing his dynamic sound and stage presence to the band’s evolving force.
Riagan O'Reilly
Riagan O’Reilly is a bassist and songwriter from Newfoundland and Labrador. His influences include some of the best bass players out there: Cliff Burton from Metallica, Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Sting from The Police. He looks up to Cliff Burton for his speed and precision, Flea for his funky slap bass style, and Sting for his ability to keep things simple and serve the song.
Riagan has been playing gigs around downtown for over a year now, getting a solid foothold in the local scene. He’s also one of the founding members of the band Dread Method.
Darien Read
Being from a very musical household Darien Read grew up with music in every aspect of his life. He went through just about every instrument until he found what he loved doing, drumming. After years of voice, piano, guitar and even trombone lessons, Darien finally landed on the kit as his next obsession, he surrounded himself in music, even more so, and this time he rediscovered what music could be. Now Darien plays the kit for the local hard rock band Dread Method.
